Q1. Should I focus on WPM or Accuracy % ?
Ans: You can check previous year write ups of SSC CGL final result. Cutoffs for typing strictly based on error %
For e.g – UR category aspirants need 95% accuracy to qualify Typing Test
Q.2 Is CPT or DEST for all posts?
Ans: CPT is only for CSS & MEA. While DEST is for TA only.
Q3. Is it necessary to appear in CPT/DEST if I’m not aiming CSS/MEA/TA?
Ans: No need to waste your time by learnign powerpoint, excel & typing. Just relax and keep your fingers cross for Tier 3 Result.
Q4. If I’ve enough time left, can I correct the errors made by me in passage during Typing??
Ans: Yes, you can. SSC Typing software is like MS word or Notepad or Word Pad Typing. You can use your mouse to point the cursor on error for correction.
Q5. What is ideal typing speed required to clear CPT/Dest ?
Ans: you have to press 2000 keystrokes in 15 minutes. Generally one word is of 5 key strokes. So, you have to type 400 words in 15 minutes.
Net WPM = 400/15 = 27(approx.)
But in this WPM you won’t get time for revision or error correction. Generally you have to type the given passage in 10-12 minutes and 3-5 minutes for revision and error correction
Net WPM (Considering Error Correction Time) = 33-40
