India Post Payments Bank will enable digital payments in post offices by April 2018
 
●    The progress of the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) expansion program has continued steadily and it is scheduled to be launched in a nation-wide manner by April 2018.
●    In some media circles, on Tuesday, 06 February, 2018, such news was published that the time limit has been revised, but no such decision has been taken about this.

●    Rear Admiral Phillipos George Poonumutil, an alumnus of Lawrence School, Lavendel and National Defense Academy (67th Course), was commissioned on January 1, 1986 in the Indian Navy.

ONGC to buy stake in offshore concessions of UAE Petroleum Company
 
●    India's largest oil and gas explorer Oil and Natural Gas Corporation of India Abu Dhabi will buy steak in the offshore oil concession from the National Oil Company.
●    ONGC will sign a contract related to it on Saturday.
●    After signing this contract, ONGC will be the first firm to buy a stake in the new concession that ends in March.


Whatsapp Payment Application
 
●    The Facebook-owned messaging service company is dealing with the new payment feature in India.
●    TechCrunch told Thursday late night that the feature is currently in beta mode and therefore it has not been announced publicly as it is not available at the widespread level.
●    When this feature launches, the new Whatsapp e-Wallet platform will give a tough challenge to the messaging services with petm and payment feature.
●    The recently launched fast wallet by Google will get a tough challenge.


Microblogging Company Twitter's First Time Profit
 
●    The first time Microblogging company Twitter has been profited. Trailing back to the rest of the social networks, Twitter has benefited from this quarter.
●    San Francisco company Twitter has earned $ 91 million i.e. 585.7 million in the fourth quarter.
●    This is the first positive net income of the public for the first time in 2013.
●    Twitter has increased revenue by 2 percent this year compared to last year.

●    A well-known senior lawyer and human rights activist Asma Jahangir died on Sunday in Lahore.
●    She was 66 years old.
●    He was admitted to the hospital because of a heart attack, and he died there.
●    In the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav, Osama Jahangir raised a voice against the Pakistan government.

State Bank loses more than Rs 20,000 crores in debt
 
●     State Bank of India, the country's largest bank, has put a staggering debt of Rs 20,339 crore in the year 2016-17.
●    This is the highest amount in government banks which have been deposited in the discounted accounts.
●    Thus, in the year 2016-17, a total of Rs 81,683 crore was deposited in the accounts of the banks.


Singh brothers extricated 500 crore from Fortis
 
●    Shares of country's second largest hospital chain, Fortis Healthcare, climbed 18 percent on Friday.
●    The reason was that the founder and promoter of Fortis, Mr. Shivinder Singh and Mr. Malvinder Singh resign from the company board.
●    Singh brothers removed $ 7.8 million (about Rs 500 crore) from the company.
●    On Thursday, Singh Brothers resigned after the Delhi High Court order.
 
 

18 percent GST to update base
 
●    Updating Aadhaar card is going to be expensive soon.
●    The Unique Identification Authority of India has decided to levy 18% GST on the update fee of the base.
●    After this decision, updating the details of the base will be costing 5 rupees.
 
SAIL net profits of Rs 43 crore
 
●    Net profits on the unified basis of the country's largest steel company SAIL, stood at Rs 43.16 crore in the quarter ending December 31, 2017.
●    SAIL gave this information in the notice given to BSE.
●    The company had a net loss of Rs 794.84 crore in the corresponding quarter of the financial year 2016-17.
 

SBI net loss of Rs 1,886.6 crore in third quarter
 
●    State Bank Group has suffered a major loss in the third quarter of the current financial year.
●    Apart from this, the NPA of the bank has also increased to Rs 2 lakh crore.
●    In the third quarter of the current financial year, there was a net loss of Rs. 1,886.6 crore.
●    The group had a net profit of Rs 2,152 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
