An Indian American woman Sunita Viswanath to be honoured as Champions of Change.

An Indian American woman is among 12 faith leaders to be honoured as "Champions of Change" by the White House for their efforts in protecting environment and communities from the effects of climate change. Sunita Viswanath, the only Indian American to figure in the list, has been selected for her work to encourage Hindus to take care of the environment. Working with women's and human rights organisations for almost three decades, Sunita is co-founder and active board member of human rights organisation.

46th Session of Indian Labour Conference on 20th and 21st July,2015 in New Delhi.

The 46th Session of the Indian Labour Conference is being held on 20th and 21st July,2015 in New Delhi. As a prelude to the Indian Labour Conference, meeting of Standing Labour Committee(S.L.C) takes place which reviews the Action Taken Report of the conclusions of the preceding labour conference and also decides upon the agenda item of the forthcoming Indian Labour Conference.The shortlisted agenda include-he shortlisted agenda include-

1. Implementation of the conclusions/ recommendations of the 43rd, 44th and 45th Indian Labour Conference, particularly on Contract Labour.

2. Minimum Wages and Scheme Workers and Tripartite Mechanism.

3. Social Security for the workers both in organized and unorganized sector.

4. Amendment of Bonus Act: Removal of conditions on payment ceiling, eligibility limits, decisions to pay minimum bonus without linking to loss when the performance indicator satisfy grant of bonus.

5. Labour Laws amendments proposed/done either by the Central or State Governments.

6. Employment and Employment Generation.

e-Courts Mission Mode Project.

The e Courts project of the Government is aimed at providing necessary hardware and software applications to enable courts to deliver e-Services to citizens, and to enable the judiciary to better monitor and manage the functioning of courts.

In Phase I of the project more than 13,000 District and Subordinate courts have been computerized and case information linked to the respective District court websites. These courts are now providing online e-Services such as cause lists, case status and judgments, to litigants and public through the e-Courts portal (http://www.ecourts.gov.in) also. 

The Phase II of the e-Courts project would also help in the automation of workflow management in courts thereby contributing to better court and case management. Touch screen based Kiosks and Video Conferencing facility will be installed at all Court Complexes and corresponding jails.

Anganwadi Karyakartri Bima Yojana.

The premium amount of Rs.80 per annum payable by Anganwadi Workers & Helpers to L.I.C under the Anganwadi Karyakartri Bima Yojana (A.K.B.Y) has been waived off for a further period of two years i.e. from 01.04.2015 to 31.03.2017.The Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers are getting insurance coverage under Anganwadi Karyakartri Bima Yojana (A.K.B.Y). The Scheme operates with premium contributions of Government of India, Life Insurance Corporation of India and the beneficiaries.

India and Pakistan were accepted as full members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (S.C.O), a regional grouping including China and Russia. This decision was taken at the 15th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (S.C.O) summit held in Russia. India, which has had an observer status for the past 10 years, will technically become a member by next year after completion of certain procedures.
