Supermoon : Brightest Moon in 69 years observed

Monday’s supermoon was extra super, it was the closest moon in almost 69 years.
●    And it won’t happen again for another 18 years.
●    Closest approach occurred at 6:21 a.m. EST when the moon came within 221,523 miles (356,508 kilometers).
●    That’s from the center of the Earth to the center of the moon.
●    Full moon occurred at 8:52 a.m. EST.
●    Supermoons appeared 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter in the night sky.
●    A supermoon is the coincidence of a full moon or a New moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the lunar disk as seen from Earth.
●    The technical name is the perigee-syzygy of the Earth–Moon–Sun system.
●    The term "supermoon" is not astronomical, but originated in modern astrology.
